Zurich, Wednesday, 20 December 2017. According to the Michael Page Swiss Job Index, advertised jobs grew throughout Switzerland by 25.3% between December 2016 and December 2017. Advertised jobs grew by 0.7% between November and December - traditionally a period exhibiting a decline in advertised jobs as businesses close before the holiday period.

The winning job categories in 2017 included logistics, IT, engineering, marketing and communications, project management as well as office and management support.

The December numbers show an end of year growth for auditors and legal specialists ahead of the financial year end as well as bankers, chemists and IT specialists.

The German speaking region and the Swiss Romande both grew by +0.6% (November – December) with year-on-year growth (December 2016 – December 2017) of +25.5% and +24.3% respectively. The growth in job vacancies was strongest in the Mid region with monthly growth of +1.8% and year-on-year growth of 38.4%.
