Zurich, Thursday, 20 December 2018. According to the Michael Page Swiss Job Index, advertised jobs grew throughout Switzerland by 18.9% between December 2017 and December 2018. Between November and December advertised jobs declined (-0.7%) in line with the seasonal trend for businesses to minimize recruitment activities during the holiday period.
Logistics specialists and IT developers were the clear winners in 2018. Other winning job categories included IT security, management and support specialists, as well as facility managers and sales specialists.

The December monthly growth figures show a record demand for IT specialists.

“With strong growth across so many areas there is every reason to be positive about the demand for specialists in 2019”, said Nicolai Mikkelsen, Director, Michael Page.
Year-on-year regional growth was greatest in the Mid region (+23.4%), Lake Geneva (+23.0%) and the Eastern region (+22.4%).
