Zurich, Wednesday, 27 September 2017. According to the Michael Page Swiss Job Index monthly advertised job vacancies (August – September 2017), grew by +9.5%. This is the highest increase in advertised job vacancies, over this period, since the index commenced in 2012. It tops the previous record of +8.5% achieved in September 2016 and is almost double the Index’s average August – September growth in advertised jobs of +5.1%.
The Swiss Romande achieved an increase of +13.1% in advertised jobs between August and September – one of the highest growth rates recorded since 2012. The German-speaking region, which accounted for 9 out of 10 of all advertised jobs, grew by +9.1% over the same period. The growth in job vacancies was strongest in the Mid and North regions +16.9% and +10.4% growth respectively (August – September).

Demand for facility managers, administrative, accounting, pharmaceutical and logistics specialists was especially strong.

We are seeing continued growth for specialists in key industries with an international focus e.g. pharma and logistics. As we move into the budget season, we are also seeing especially strong demand for administration and accounting specialists.
