Job Description

As a Lab Testing Specialist (Materials) you will be responsible for Test execution (physical tests done by machines) and data analysis incl. visualization/Dahsbooards. You task areas will include:

  1. Testing Execution and Reporting
  • Sample Management: Manage the end-to-end process of sample flow, including receiving, meticulous preparation, conditioning, and logging of all required material and product samples.
  • Test Performance: Execute a wide range of established physical tests (as required by the internal framework) on materials and finished goods, strictly following current SOPs. Tests performed by machines, no manual tests.
  • Data Pipeline Management: Oversee the end-to-end flow of testing data, implementing automated scripts to handle sample logging, and raw data extraction from lab machinery.
  • Automated Reporting: Utilize programming skills (e.g., Python, R) to develop and maintain automated reporting tools, transforming complex test results into dynamic, technical visualizations and concise datasets for stakeholders.
  1. Lab Maintenance and Readiness
  • Equipment Upkeep: Execute routine daily and weekly maintenance tasks for all testing equipment, ensuring machines are clean and in continuous working order.
  • Calibration Support: Assist the Lab Lead in managing the schedule and process for external equipment calibration.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain the facility to the highest standard of order, cleanliness, and safety, ensuring the lab environment is always optimized for reliable testing.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor and manage the inventory of consumable testing supplies flagging restocking needs proactively.

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience in a physical materials testing environment (e.g. flexibility, abrasion, durability) with a strong emphasis on technical data processing.
  • Demonstrated expertise in operating and maintaining standard lab machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail, precision, and adherence to established protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results within tight deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in programming for data analysis (Python, R, or similar) and experience building automated reporting workflows.
  • Positive mindset and strong team spirit.
