We are looking for a Business Development Officer to drive new revenue initiatives at the intersection of product innovation, digital transformation and stakeholder governance within an international environment.You will lead initiatives from idea to market validation, working closely with internal teams, technical experts and board-level stakeholders.

About Our Client

Our client is a well-established Not For Profit organization operating on an international scale. This position is open as part of a temporary replacement

You will join a team of professionals and operate in a highly international environment, interacting with stakeholders across multiple countries, industries and governance bodies.

The role has strong exposure to senior decision-making bodies (board & committees) and sits at the heart of the organization's efforts to develop new revenue streams, particularly through digital products, data and emerging technologies (including AI).

Job Description

1. Product & revenue development

  • Contribute to the design and development of new revenue-generating products and services, with a focus on digital and data-driven solutions
  • Shape and articulate clear, compelling value propositions aligned with market needs
  • Identify opportunities driven by digital transformation, data and AI



2. End-to-end project management

  • Lead initiatives from ideation → structuring → pilot (test phase) → validation
  • Build and manage project plans, timelines and deliverables
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, especially IT and technical stakeholders
  • Track progress, assess feasibility and ensure outcomes



3. Market insight & validation

  • Conduct market and customer analysis (industrial players, standards users, ecosystem stakeholders)
  • Identify market opportunities, trends and competitive dynamics
  • Validate product concepts through pilot testing and feedback loops



4. Board & stakeholder engagement (critical)

  • Act as a trusted partner to boards and governance bodies involved in product ideation and revenue generation
  • Support them in evaluating opportunities, challenging assumptions and refining strategic direction
  • Facilitate alignment across complex, international stakeholder landscapes
  • Navigate decision-making processes and ensure momentum



5. Commercialization support

  • Contribute to the definition of pricing, positioning and go-to-market strategies
  • Take into account long and complex sales cycles, especially within industrial and technical environments
  • Support the transition from concept to market-ready offering

The Successful Applicant

What we are looking for (key selection criteria)

  • Proven experience in market research and opportunity identification
  • Strong track record in managing full project lifecycles (ideation to launch)
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with exposure to senior governance / boards
  • Solid understanding of digital transformation, data or AI-driven environments
  • Experience in international and matrix organisations
  • Exposure to non-profit / institutional or member-based organisations is a strong asset
  • Ability to operate in complex, cross-functional environments and drive outcomes

Experience

  • Proven track record in:
    • Business development / revenue generation
    • Innovation or product/service creation
    • End-to-end project management
  • Exposure to international and matrix environments (highly important)
  • Experience with complex stakeholder ecosystems and governance structures
  • Familiarity with industrial or technical environments (e.g., companies working with standards, manufacturing, engineering) is a strong plus
  • Experience with long sales cycles and market insight-driven approaches



Strong ability to:

  • Operate in ambiguous and complex environments
  • Build and challenge value propositions
  • Manage senior stakeholders, including board-level interactions



Solid understanding of:

  • Digital transformation, data and emerging technologies (AI)
  • Market analysis and customer insight



Excellent project management and execution capabilities
