Our client is a leading international company undergoing a period of transformation and transition within its HR and Finance functions.

Job Description



Reporting to the HR leadership team, you will act as the payroll subject matter expert, overseeing end-to-end payroll operations managed by an external payroll provider. In addition to ensuring accurate and compliant payroll delivery, you will actively support payroll transformation projects, process reviews, and operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact between the business and the external payroll provider.
  • Coordinate and review monthly payroll activities to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
  • Validate payroll inputs, outputs, reconciliations, and payroll-related reporting.
  • Manage payroll-related queries from employees, HR, Finance, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and internal policies.
  • Support month-end and year-end payroll activities.
  • Identify risks, inefficiencies, and control gaps within current payroll processes.
  • Drive payroll process improvement and standardization initiatives.
  • Contribute to payroll transformation projects, including process mapping, documentation, and implementation of best practices.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external partners to enhance payroll governance and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and update payroll procedures, controls, and process documentation.
  • Support knowledge transfer activities during the transition period.

The Successful Applicant

  • Extensive payroll experience gained in an international and complex environment.
  • Strong understanding of payroll operations, payroll controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience managing relationships with outsourced payroll providers.
  • Demonstrated involvement in payroll transformation, process improvement, or payroll optimization projects.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with HRIS and payroll systems is an advantage.
  • Fluent English is mandatory; additional languages are considered a plus.
