The company is currently expanding its Natural Gas Trading activities and is seeking an experienced Natural Gas Trading Originator to contribute to the growth of its commercial portfolio, develop strategic market relationships, and drive profitability across European gas markets.

Job Description



Business Development & Origination

  • Originate and develop new business opportunities in natural gas markets.
  • Build and maintain a portfolio of customers, suppliers, and trading counterparties.
  • Develop strategic relationships with utilities, industrial consumers, producers, shippers, aggregators, and wholesalers.
  • Identify customer needs and design tailored commercial solutions.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and secure profitable contracts.



Transaction Structuring

  • Structure physical and financial gas transactions.
  • Negotiate medium- and long-term gas supply agreements.
  • Develop customized pricing and risk management solutions.
  • Structure transportation, storage, flexibility, and capacity-related agreements.
  • Support LNG-related opportunities where applicable.



Collaboration with Trading Desk

  • Work closely with traders to monetize commercial opportunities.
  • Transfer originated deals for execution and risk management.
  • Contribute to market strategies and portfolio optimization initiatives.
  • Identify arbitrage and value-creation opportunities across markets.



Market Analysis

  • Monitor European and international natural gas markets.
  • Analyze supply-demand fundamentals and market dynamics.
  • Track developments in:
    • LNG markets
    • Gas storage levels
    • Pipeline flows
    • Regulatory changes
    • Geopolitical events
    • Energy transition trends
  • Identify market opportunities and emerging risks.



Risk & Contract Management

  • Support the negotiation of EFET agreements and other master trading contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with internal risk, credit, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Work closely with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Credit teams.
  • Monitor contractual performance and obligations throughout the transaction lifecycle

The Successful Applicant



Education

  • Master's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Energy Markets, or a related field.
  • MBA or advanced energy market certification is an advantage.



Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in:
    • Gas Origination
    • Natural Gas Trading
    • Energy Commercial Operations
    • Commodity Markets
  • Proven track record of originating and closing commercial transactions.
  • Strong network within European energy markets is highly desirable.
