Technical Presales and After Sales Manager (m/f)

About Our Client
Our client is a global player in fluid displacement equipment (pumps, tubes, hoses, valves, etc.) used across multiple applications, from labs in the biopharma industry to heavy-duty installations in the chemical, food or waste and water industry.
In this new position, you will be part of the Swiss subsidiary of a leading multinational company and report directly to the General Manager of Switzerland. In this role, you will be managing a Team of 5, representing both the Commercial and Technical Departments.
As part of the Technical Department, the core responsibilities of the role are to supervise and contribute to the Team on:
- Project management, from medium to high complexity
- Technical presales and after-sales, involving direct interaction with customers
- Technical support to the team of Sales Engineers
- Quotation and price calculation, from standard to highly customised solutions
- Supporting trials and product demos at customers and during events
- Product quality related topics such as change notification, certificates, quality agreements
As part of the Commercial Department, the core focus of the team is on:
- Creation of trade agreements with factories (ERP)
- Processing orders, customer confirmations and invoicing
- Administrative after-sales
- General office administration tasks
- Driving Environmental, Health & Safety Group measures locally
The Successful Applicant
We are looking for a candidate with a technical background (ideally in mechanical engineering) or equivalent professional training with an experience of 3 to 5 years in a similar position as technical manager / presales manager / technical inside sales manager / technical after sales manager.
It would be a plus if the hired candidate has a background in the fluid mechanics or process industry with equipment like pumps, valves, actuators, compressors, filters, flow meters, etc.
In terms of leadership, we are looking for someone that is highly people oriented, with some years of experience in leading a small team of technical and admin staff.
The hired person should be self-driven, with a sound level of intrinsic motivation, strong problem-solving skills, customer orientation and a proactive attitude.
In terms of personality, we are targeting candidates who are open-minded and who can adapt well in a multicultural, dynamic, growing and demanding business environment within a small team of around 12-13 people in Switzerland.
For this position we require fluency both in German and English. French or Italian would be an asset.
