About Our Client
Our client is a Trading company based in Geneva.
Job Description
- Ensure trading economic view is properly translated into accounting books in accordance with internal policies
- Perform closing tasks ensuring trading P&L is extensively and accurately reflected into accounting ledgers
- Reconciliation of trading book versus accounting ledgers and analyse discrepancies
- Support external audits of yearly financial statements and partnership activities
- Provide meaningful analysis to the various stakeholders to improve decision-making
- Support continuous improvements regarding tools, processes and controls
- Comply with internal policies on confidentiality and security of accounting data
- Serve as the focal point between commercial operations, risk and support functions to ensure proper recognition and reflection of the P&L
The Successful Applicant
- Master's degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with exposure to the energy/commodity trading industry
- Understanding the commodity trading industry including markets, products and exchanges
- Excellent accounting knowledge is required with strong experience in closing audits
- Knowledge of ERP systems and high literacy in Excel
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills in both English and French
- Excellent partnering skills and can-do attitude
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
- Demonstrate ability to identify and communicate potential issues to appropriate teams/stakeholders, ensuring follow-up and resolution
- Committed and resilient, dealing effectively with pressure and tight deadlines
- Eager to learn and self-motivated
- Ability to earn trust
