Our Client is seeking a Quality Manager to oversee the Swiss regulatory compliance and quality oversight for all products imported and exported through the Swiss entity. Although no production occurs locally, this role is critical for maintaining Swiss compliance, managing audits by Swissmedic, and enabling local market operations. The position will provide strategic quality leadership and has the potential to grow.

Multinational Pharmaceutical company established more that 50 years ago, and located near Zurich.

Job Description

  • Ensure full compliance with Swissmedic regulations and local pharmaceutical legislation for all imported and exported products.
  • Act as the primary interface with Swiss regulatory authorities, including preparation and response to inspections and audits.
  • Review, approve, and maintain quality documentation, batch records, and product dossiers for Swiss operations.
  • Collaborate closely with global entity quality teams, CMOs, and production sites to ensure that imported products meet Swiss standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve local quality processes, policies, and systems.
  • Support preparation for future team growth, including potential hiring and mentoring of local quality staff.
  • Contribute to internal and external compliance and risk management initiatives.

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience in pharmaceutical quality management within a multinational company in Switzerland.
  • In-depth knowledge of Swissmedic requirements, local regulations, and quality standards for imported/exported pharmaceutical products.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate autonomously.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization, collaborating transversely with global teams and external partners.
  • Fluent in German and English (both written and spoken).
  • Ability to plan and build a team in the future, though initial role does not have direct reports.
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to compliance and continuous improvement.
