For our client, a multinational biotechnology company in Solothurn, we are currently looking for several experienced Manufacturing Associates - different levels of experience - for automated upstream processing of mammalian cell culture, working in shifts.The assignment will be temporary for the next 12 months, to start as soon as possible. Depending on the performance and motivation, there is possibility of an extension or permanent take-over.

About Our Client

For our client, a multinational biotechnology company in Solothurn, we are currently looking for several experienced Manufacturing Associates - different levels of experience - for automated upstream processing of mammalian cell culture, working in shifts.

The assignment will be temporary for the next 12 months, to start as soon as possible. Depending on the performance and motivation, there is possibility of an extension or permanent take-over.

Note: Candidates with PhD but no industry experience cannot be considered for this role.

Job Description

Depending on the experience level, the Manufacturing Associate Upstream (a) will be responsible for the following task area (the level will be assessed during the interview with the line manager):

  • Executing manufacturing (automated) processing steps and/or manufacturing support activities
  • Monitoring upstream processes
  • Following safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Operating and maintaining production equipment and facilities in a safe and efficient manner



If senior manufacturing associate experience:

  • Investigation and troubleshooting/adjustments of equipment/system setup if process issues arise
  • Validating protocols, and revising cGMP documentation if necessary
  • Training junior manufacturing associates

The Successful Applicant

In order to be considered for the role, the selected candidate must have:

  • Technical education (apprenticeship) in biotechnology or related field plus min 3 years industry experience in pharma/biotech OR
  • Bachelor degree in biotechnology or related field and more than 1 year industry experience in pharma/biotech (if degree not field related min 3 years industry experience in biotech/pharma companies can compensate)
  • Knowledge of GMP, SOPs, and safety protocols
  • Experience with automated systems and process controls (upstream)
  • English skills (min. B1), German or French are an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to product quality
  • General IT affinity, Delta V or Syncade experience are an asset
