About Our Client

Our client is a multinational company with their premises based in central Switzerland. The company is an international player in the Petrochemical Industry with the aim to continue growing the business globally.

Job Description

  • Support the timely filing of financial closings
  • Ensure accurate, consistent, detailed, and timely financial analysis and reports
  • Support the monthly group reporting package of holding company and subsidiary
  • Support the calculation and preliminary purchase price
  • Support calculation of final netback to producers and related parties on global realized sales and related costs
  • Assist with preparing and monitoring budgets, accurately and timely
  • Assist with audit preparation
  • Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
  • Support on quarterly Board of Director meeting & AGM meeting preparation
  • Ensure that accounting procedures comply with Swiss Code of Obligation requirements
  • Ensure compliance with internal control policies, assessing and improving the risk areas
  • Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures (project management)
  • Perform other accounting duties, ad-hoc tasks, supporting junior staff, and supporting global reconciliation, as required, or assigned
  • Provide back-up for Finance&Accounting colleagues in their absence

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Five (5)+ years of accounting experience in similar role
  • Proficient communication skills in English and German
  • Experience with controlling and general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Working knowledge of IFRS and Swiss Code of Obligation
  • Practical experience with accounting and reporting software packages, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Microsoft NAV
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Queries and Power PIVOT
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and mathematical skills, with the ability to research accounting issues and prepare/analyze data and figures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong organizational and management skills
  • Ability to function as a team player, adaptable and highly motivated
  • Ability to train and support F&A staff
  • Adherence to policies, procedures, and instruction of superiors
  • Punctual, highly self-motivated, and able to productively work under minimal supervision with an exceptional attention to detail
