ConvaTec is in the process of establishing their European Headquarter in Schaffhausen and we are seeking an Associate Director - Rigid Direct Materials to join their team.

Job description
Reporting to the Director of Global Sourcing you will create maximum value for ConvaTec through the development, execution and effective management of strategic category sourcing plans. You coordinate and leverage global cross-Business Unit spend as well as directing and managing the Direct Materials and Resins & Tooling team.

Responsibilities extend across the Global Rigid Materials Category, including the sourcing of Moulded Parts, Tooling to produce Moulded Parts, Resins, Master batch, Colorants and Compounds related to internal Moulded or Extruded products - defined as a group or groups of related goods.

Your responsibilities will include:

Developing a strategic sourcing plan for your categories, engaging the key category stakeholders and facilitating the development of global strategic sourcing
Identifying, selecting, and contracting suppliers for Rigid Materials
Monitoring and managing supplier performance with respect to cost, quality, delivery timeliness, etc.
Identifying and driving continuous improvement initiatives
Having a proactive role across the area of responsibility to ensure that all spend is routed through sourcing or subjected to the discipline and methodology of strategic procurement
Ensuring compliance with corporate purchasing policies through effective communication and relationship building with customers.

Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have:

Six to nine years of experience in sourcing, consulting, or a productivity improvement role. Experience in a FDA regulated industry preferred. B.S. or B.A. required. Professional certification (CPM, CIPS, EIPM) and/or MBA are highly desirable
An understanding of financial principles, resource planning and allocation, and the fundamental drivers of improvements across a variety of business areas
Experience managing cross-functional and cross-business projects within a matrix business environment, including an understanding of the barriers to change and how to overcome them
Excellent inter-personal & communication skills, with fluency in English
The willingness to travel primarily within EMEA and North America to plants and supplier facilities. Some travel may be required to Asia, India and South America. Travel 20 - 30%.
