Senior Process Engineer - Membrane Manufacturing

Job description
Reporting to the Research & Development manager, the Process Engineers will work under limited supervision and are responsible for initiating, evaluating, and implementing solutions to production problems, product design changes, and product improvements. You are a key player in the design and prototyping of production systems, including the proposal, design, and implementation of automation equipment and processes. Work assignments may be broad in nature requiring originality and creativity. You will apply technical knowledge to moderately difficult assignments and engineering work assignments are varied and difficult in character.

Process Engineer (Membrane Manufacturing) will lead the rapid implementation of membrane development. You also have the ownership and handling of material from membrane production to apply and trim operations.

Process Engineer (Dispense/Assembly) will work on adhesive dispensing process development with suppliers to define high volume dispensing materials. You will define automation systems for manufacturing assembly and optical fluid dispensing system development.

In addition both professionals will be responsible for:
Publishing engineering and reject analysis reports;
Maintaining prints, engineering specifications, bills of materials, routings and operational standards;
Initiating, evaluating and documenting trials on products;
Introducing new products and technologies to Knowles' production facilities and issuing appropriate specifications;
Initiating and implementing cost reduction ideas, product changes and redesigned products; issuing appropriate specifications and coordinating special feasibility projects;
Assisting Marketing and Quality Assurance by solving customer complaints regarding product problems;
Assisting in the design, prototyping, and qualification of new test and production systems;
Investigating and evaluating new manufacturing technologies, equipment and materials to find innovative ideas for more efficient manufacturing methods;
Performing required repairs and calibrations to production line and test equipment;
Training Knowles' production facilities and subcontract manufactures on new products, production methods, and equipment.

Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have:

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automation Engineering or equivalent;
Minimum of seven to ten years of Production Engineering and Equipment Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering experience;
Minimum 5 years work experience in optic development environment;
Minimum of 5 years of Tooling and Automation experience
Global manufacturing background;
Automation project team member or leader with the ability to absorb complex project and process knowledge;
Very good oral and written communication skills;
Software skills including MS Office, Excel, statistical analysis and graphing are required
